40ton Air Cooled Industrial Water Chiller for sheet extrusion production
The chiller is a key supporting equipment in sheet extrusion
production.
Through precise temperature control and efficient heat dissipation,
it not only ensures product quality and production efficiency, but
also reduces energy consumption and maintenance costs.
Selecting the right chiller (such as cooling capacity and flow
matching) is crucial to optimizing the process and improving
economic benefits.

1. Temperature control and stability
Melt cooling: During the sheet extrusion process, the plastic raw
materials need to be quickly cooled and shaped after being heated
and melted. The chiller circulates cooling water to accurately
control the temperature of the mold, calender roller or cooling
roller to ensure uniform cooling of the sheet and avoid
deformation, warping or surface defects.
Prevent overheating: The extruder screw and barrel may generate
additional heat due to friction during operation. The chiller
assists in heat dissipation and maintains the equipment within a
safe temperature range.
2. Improve product quality
Reduce internal stress: Through uniform cooling, the chiller can
reduce the internal stress caused by temperature difference inside
the sheet and prevent cracking or deformation during later
processing (such as cutting and thermoforming).
Surface finish: Rapid cooling can solidify the surface of the
sheet, ensure its smoothness and reduce defects such as bubbles and
streaks.
3. Improve production efficiency
Shorten the molding cycle: An efficient cooling system can speed up
the shaping of the sheet, reduce the waiting time of the production
line, and increase production capacity.
Continuous production: Stable temperature control avoids shutdown
due to overheating of the equipment and ensures long-term
continuous operation.
4. Extend equipment life
Prevent thermal damage: The screw, mold and other key components of
the extruder are prone to aging or wear at high temperatures. The
chiller reduces the heat load by dissipating heat and extends the
service life of the components.
Reduce maintenance costs: Stable operating temperature can reduce
equipment failure rate and reduce maintenance frequency.
5. Adapt to diverse production needs
Flexibly adjust temperature: Different materials (such as PP, PET,
PVC, etc.) have different requirements for cooling temperature. The
chiller can meet various process requirements through precise
temperature control.
Energy saving and environmental protection: Modern chillers use
high-efficiency refrigeration technology (such as frequency
conversion control) to reduce energy consumption and wastewater
discharge.
Benefits of a chiller with four compressors compared to a single
compressor
1. Energy saving and consumption reduction, reducing compressor
wear and avoiding frequent start and stop.
2. Balance energy efficiency and cooling speed to adapt to the
intermittent high demand of injection molding machines.
